Our collection of handmade glass pens are easy on the eye but also very useful. A glass pen collects ink in the flutes in the nib when you dip the pen in ink. The capillary action that is a result of this creates a very natural ink flow without dripping and blotching. This makes glass pens very useful for testing ink.
If the nib gets blunt it can be sanded using fine sanding paper (Grit 600). But for the Bortoletti pens we also offer spare glass nibs in several different colors.
You can use both fountain pen ink as well as calligraphy ink with a glass pen. The flutes in the nib also function as a reservoir, therefor one dip in ink goes a long way.
